Save Lives: Partner With Us!

Galveston Firefighters Association is partnering with the Galveston Island Humane Society (GIHS) to bring you the 2019 Galveston Firefighters Calendar, featuring Galveston’s own firefighters and adoptable animals from GIHS!

Last year we were able to raise over $20,000 for our animals - this year we are asking YOU to join us in this amazing campaign and help the leading rescuers of humans AND animals.

Over 3,000 unwanted and stray animals enter GIHS’ door each year and for over 37 years, it’s our hope to give them a chance to become part of someone’s family. Since 1981, GIHS has been dedicated to promoting animal welfare and the protection and prevention of unwanted or homeless animals. We are an “open admission” shelter for Galveston Island, accepting all homeless pets, even when our shelter is full.

The Galveston Fire Department is the first paid fire department in the state of Texas. For over 130 years, GFD has been committed to providing the highest level of public safety services for the community, protecting lives and property.

Galveston Island Humane Society provides the services needed to save lives, just like our brave firefighters do every day!
